Brown Butter Bakeshop started the way most good things do — with a lot of butter and a stubborn refusal to take shortcuts.

I'm Tina Peters, the baker behind it all. I've been obsessed with European-style pastry for as long as I can remember — the kind of baking that takes its time, uses real ingredients, and shows up as something that actually tastes like it was made by a person who cared. Professional culinary training helped, but honestly, so did years of just making things over and over until they were right.

We started in Colorado in 2022 — a small operation, a big Globe mixer, and more brioche than our neighbors probably needed. My husband Gordon and our boys, Oliver and Aiden  got pulled in along the way, because that's what happens when someone keeps leaving cakes on the counter.

Then Door County happened. We'd been coming here for years, fell a little more in love every time, and eventually stopped leaving. In 2026 we packed up, moved the family — kids, dogs, and all the baking equipment — and opened our brick-and-mortar shop right in the heart of Sister Bay.

Every pastry in the case is scratch-made. Every cake is built to order. Nothing from a mix, nothing rushed.
